Hi, my name is Robert Arrington and I am the CEO & Founder of Arrington AeroSystems/ AeroForge R.A. This is a one-man operation where I develop very low cost and advanced aerospace projects that take advantage of asymmetric warfare. I am also an aviator and UAV builder and operator.Â
Below are pictures of the files I sell on cults.3d and amazon. Your support in what I do is greatly appreciated.
Cardboard munitions are the future of asymmetric warfare. Though it's not known about, this missile was developed before the CORVO drone. I won't blame you for thinking that this is an arts and crafts project but don't be fooled. This art project has major tactical applications on the battlefield.
This was my jab at building a guided missile apparatus using an Arduino based flight controller as a proof of concept. I'm a bit of a one trick pony so as a precursor I decided to learning Arduino and take it to a new level. (Mainly because Arduino is the only language I know) But as you can see my results were a success resulting in a manual command line of site (MCLOS) or a GPS guided system. The rocket fuselage construction is only comprised of three things and that's cardboard epoxy and toilet paper rolls that have been cut by yours truly. BTW in case it wasn't clear good luck finding this on radar.Â
Asymmetric Warfare--TAKE A LOOK AT A SIDE-BY-SIDE COMPARISON
DON'T BE FOOLED IT MAY NOT LOOK IT, BUT A STANDARD LOGITECH CONTROL STICK WILL DO. SIMILAR TO THE REAL SAGGER YOU CAN GET (DEPENDING ON WINDS) 1000-3000m. MINE IS ACTUALLY EASIER TO CONTROL AND EMPLOY MAINLY BECAUSE IT'S GYRO AND GPS IS FAR MORE ACCURATE THAN THE ORIGINAL AT-3 AND IT CAN BE FIRE AND FORGET (FAF) IF YOU CHOOSE TO USE IT IN THAT MODE.
For my version I also built a cardboard box launcher (below) as well, similar in design to the Japanese Type 60 shown here. (right)
If you indeed wish to roll-play as a GBU-12 it's only a light FPV camera and 2 lbs. of C-4 away. Not bad for just cardboard. It's not completely waterproof but I also imagine anyone reading this doesn't care especially since you can spray on water repellent to make this system waterproof. The electronics are fully water resistant though.Â
This launcher was assembled from a single 171/4 x 11 x 101/8 heavily modified cardboard box with an electrical contact to start the rocket motors.
A completely cardboard/composite guided missile (before they were cool).
