I am an Associate Professor at the Escola de Matemática Aplicada (EMAp/FGV ) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
I am the Coordinator of the Undergraduate Program in Applied Mathematics (Coordenadora da Graduação em Matemática Aplicada).
I am Subject Editor of the journal Optimal Control, Methods and Applications (OCAM).
My research interests are the following:
Optimal Control: In this field I focus mainly on second order optimality conditions and convergence of associated numerical algorithms for optimal control both of ODEs and PDEs, and on several aspects concerning impulsive control problems.
Mathematical Epidemiology: In this area I investigate, in particular, problems related to vector-borne diseases as dengue fever, Zika virus and Malaria. I apply, in general, tools arising from Dynamical Systems and Control Theory.
