I am a Ph.D. Candidate at the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department, the University of Toronto. I am a member of the Toronto Intelligent Decision Engineering Laboratory (TIDEL) under the supervision of Prof. Chris Beck. My research covers both applied and theoretical aspects of modeling and solving hard resource allocation and optimization problems. My applied research examines the use of Operations Research (OR) and System Dynamics to tackle challenges faced in northern Canada, particularly in transportation, healthcare access, and food security, using both quantitative and qualitative methods. My theoretical research focuses on designing both exact and approximate algorithms to address challenges in job scheduling and graph theory.
March 2024 - I am happy to announce that I was a recipient of the Paul Cadario Doctoral Fellowship in Global Engineering (valued at $9,200).
January 2024 - I will give a presentation on "Food Insecurity in Northern Canada: a Systematic View," at the University of Toronto, hosted by Bahar Charity student
July 2023 - I am happy to announce that my recent paper entitled "Optimization models for pickup-and-delivery problems with reconfigurable capacities" co-authored with Giovanni Lo Bianco, Chengyu Tao, and Chris Beck (my advisor) is accepted at the 29th International Conference on Principles and Practice of Constraint Programming.
July 2023 - I am excited to present my research on the food insecurity problem of remote northern communities of Canada at the International System Dynamics Conference, Chicago, United States.
June 2022 - I am excited to attend the on-the-land indigenous education program offered by TransformHF at Hart House farm.
July 2021 - I will attend the System Dynamics summer school at the International System Dynamics Conference.
June 2021 - I will present my poster, titled Optimization models for resource allocation in northern Canada at Engineering Research Days, hosted by the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering at the University of Toronto.
January 2021 - I am happy to announce that I received Wallberg Research Fellowships from the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering department (valued at $4,000).
October 2020 - I am pleased to announce that I have successfully passed my qualifying exam.
April 2020 - I am happy to announce that I received the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering Graduate Student Endowment Fund.
