Welcome!
I am a social scientist and currently a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Strategy at Bayes Business School, City St George's, University of London, where I have been based since September 2023. My research draws on a sociological approach to explore categorization and institutional processes, with a particular focus on domains such as entrepreneurship (venture capital) and the cultural industries (film, publishing).
Methodologically, I combine controlled experiments and large-scale quantitative data with natural language processing (NLP) techniques to investigate how categories shape individual and organizational behaviors and evaluations.
My work has appeared in leading journals in organization studies and sociology, including the Academy of Management Journal, Governance, Poetics, and Research in the Sociology of Organizations. I was recognized among the Top 50 Undergraduate Business Professors by Poets & Quants (2022).
I hold a Ph.D. in Management Sciences from HEC Paris, and graduate degrees in philosophy (M.Phil. & B.A., University of Paris-Nanterre), sociology (M.Phil., University of Paris-Sorbonne), organization studies (M.Phil., University of Lyon-Jean Moulin), and business administration (M.Sc., EM Lyon Business School). During my doctoral studies, I was a visiting scholar at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and Department of Sociology. Prior to joining Bayes, I was Assistant Professor in Management at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU).
