About Myself
Hi all, welcome to my home page. I am Arnab, working as a research scientist (permanent) in Tata Research Development and Design Centre (TRDDC), one of the Research Labs of TCS Research and Innovation (TCS R&D) division spread across the country. I have completed my double master's from two premier institutions (Institute of Eminence, IoE) of the country, i.e. IIT Madras (in Mechanical Engineering) and IIT Kharagpur (in Ocean Engineering & Naval Architecture), respectively after completing my Bachelor in Engineering (in Power Engineering) from Jadavpur University. Presently, I am a registered doctoral candidate in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at IISc Bangalore. Earlier, I have been visiting researcher in the Department of Ocean Engineering at Texas A&M University, USA in 2017 (through S.N. Bose Fellowship), and in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at KAUST, Saudi Arabia in 2021 (Through VSRP 2021). I have worked in various industries for a short stint (Ex-consultant at AnalyticsPlus Inc. and Ex-Engineer at Emerson Electric). I am the recipient of many prestigious awards like, Best innovative masters project award by Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE, Govt. of India), Innovative project award at TCS Research and media coverage, S.N. Bose Scholarship (for USA), VSRP fellowship (for KAUST, UAE), Indian Academy of Science Fellowship (for IISc), IIT Madras SRIP, IIT Gandhinagar SRIP, etc. I am an experimentalist by training and my research areas are spread over different domains of Propulsion and Energy: Multiphase flows, Droplet dynamics, Turbulence, Heat transfer, Combustion, Atomization & Sprays, and CFD. I am the INAE innovative project awardee 2022, awarded by Govt. of India. I was one among the 8 recipients across the country and only person from IIT Madras and West Bengal state. Recently, I have joined as an advisory board member of FOSSEE, IIT Bombay (https://cfd.fossee.in/advisory_board). I am a reviewer of many prestigious journals like, Physics of Fluids, Atomization and Sprays, Journal of Power and Propulsion, AIAA, ASME journal of Engineering for Gas Turbine and Power, IMechE: Part A,C, and M.
