Zwift Racing Score (ZRS) is a dynamic ranking system designed to reflect a rider’s current fitness and racing performance. After each race, a rider’s score may increase or decrease depending on several factors, including:
Their finishing position
The strength of the competition
The size of the field
Whether they achieved a podium finish
In addition to race results, ZRS incorporates a rider’s best 5-minute power over the last 90 days, factoring in both absolute watts and watts per kilogram (W/kg).
The Army Cycling eRace Series (ACeRS) uses Zwift Racing Score (ZRS) to place riders into fair and competitive categories. These categories are enforced for all races in the series:
A - 1000 - 520
B - 520 - 390
C - 390 - 180
D - 180 - 0
🟣 Female riders race in pens based on ZRS but are ranked in their own gender classification.
✅ If you’re promoted, you must race in your new category
✅ If you’re demoted, you may choose to race in the lower pen
❗️You must notify the ACeRS Committee of any changes and resubmit registration form
Earn points for finish position + any sprint/KOM segments
Only your best 3 race scores count
Points carry over if you change category
We use a category and position weighted points system. Riders earn points based on finishing positions, with higher positions scoring disproportionately more. Additionally, points are scaled by category, meaning A-Category riders earn more than B,C, or D for the same placing.
Open A/Female - 100, 95, 90, 89, 88, 87...
Open B - 80, 75, 70, 69, 68, 67...
Open C - 60, 75, 70, 59, 58, 57...
Open D - 50, 45, 40, 39, 38, 37...
Based on total race time
If you miss a race: slowest time in category is applied
Times from old category are adjusted if you move
Certain races have sprint primes (200–500m)
Fastest time (FTS) wins segment points (based on rank).
Sprint points are awarded based on the course profile flat routes offer the highest points, while hillier routes award fewer. Points decrease progressively with each placing within a rider’s category.
Flat - 30, 26, 22, 20, 19, 18...
Rolling - 25, 21, 17, 15, 14, 13...
Hilly - 20, 16, 12, 10, 9, 8...
Mountainous - 10, 7, 5, 3, 2, 1...
Certain races have climbing primes (500m+)
Fastest time (FTS) wins segment points (based on rank)
KOM points are awarded based on segment difficulty and placing. Harder climbs (HC = Hors Catégorie) award more points to the top riders, while lower-category climbs (2–5) award fewer. For each category, points reduce as you go down the placings.
HC - 50, 45, 40, 36, 35, 34...
2 - 40, 36, 32, 30, 29, 28...
3 - 30, 26, 22, 20, 19, 18...
