I wish to harness my potential as a young mind and raise it all the way to the stars. In short, the career that I have decided to pursue is aerospace engineering. I chose this career because I have always had a fascination with things beyond this world and the extraterrestrial; plus I really want to be an astronaut. Ever since I have been studying space and everything that recently has been going on that is interesting in our solar system. I honestly was never inspired or prompted to pursue this career field. I just want to be someone who can say they’ve been outside of this world and has made a contribution to society. I decided this was the path I had to choose ever since I was in middle school.I have always been interested in science and loved it but I was never good at math but I’m trying to become better everyday by taking Honors Physics and Pre- Calculus right now and I plan to continue to increase my knowledge in those subjects in college to the best of my ability. So far I’ve learned and passed Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, and I’m currently taking Physics and Pre-Calc as stated before to hopefully help with my goal. For extracurricular activities I have done two sports in basketball and track along with doing a historical reenactment for school once before. These things taught me teamwork and how to take charge and accountability in certain situations as well as following directions and working with others to reach a common goal. Outside of school I have worked in the Blessing of The Fleet both on the boats and accompanying people across the island to the lighthouse which really just helped me build a fascination for the mechanics and functionalities of vehicle travel both on land and in the water. I currently work as a custodian cleaning multiple areas like the Ford dealership, daycares, and housing authorities. This job taught me that keeping things clean and orderly is important in every project you do to make sure said project is simpler and efficient. Upon graduation I plan on going to college but I haven’t exactly picked one yet. I don’t plan on joining the military because its not an interest of mine but I heard the air force helps people with the goal of being an aerospace engineer or astronaut through knowing how to maneuver and function aeronautical machines and vehicles like manned drones and jets which are somewhat similar to spaceships. I plan to attend a four-year college/ university because I feel like it would play an important part in my overall goal. I am still formulating my plan when it comes to finishing college and after that. After I achieve my goal I will help the community by educating people on foreign objects outside our planet and why knowing about the things beyond our planet is important. I plan to have a big impact on society whether they know about my actions or not. I just hope the world is ready for the positive influence I’m going to bring and hopefully I can inspire young minds to get out in the world and explore their interests so they can one day be a part of something greater.
