Workshops for TRIO, Upward Bound, Talent Search, GEAR UP, and first‑generation youth
Students often know what they want to say— but freeze when it’s time to speak.
This workshop teaches simple, powerful memory techniques that help students organize their thoughts, remember key points, and speak with confidence.
We also cover study strategies that improve retention and reduce stress.
Students leave with:
A repeatable method for preparing any speech
Tools to remember information quickly
Increased confidence in academic and leadership settings
Students learn practical life skills such as emotional control, dignity, and long-term thinking through stories, wisdom, and examples from Black history.
Instead of memorizing dates, they explore how historical lessons translate into real‑world strategies they can use today.
It’s a practical, culture‑rooted approach to identity, resilience and decision-making.
Students leave with:
• A stronger identity
• Enhanced emotional & mental resilience
• Better decision‑making
Students today face constant pressure. And stress can make it hard to stay focused or in control.
This workshop teaches simple grounding techniques that help students calm their minds, regulate their emotions, and stay present in challenging moments.
Using breathing, sensory grounding, and visualization, students learn practical strategies they can use anywhere to manage stress before it becomes overwhelming.
Students leave with:
Tools to calm their minds and reduce emotional overwhelm
Simple grounding strategies they can use anywhere
Greater control over their thoughts, focus, and reactions
The Nguzo Saba is more than a holiday tradition — it’s a practical leadership system students can use every day.
This workshop shows how each principle guides decision‑making, teamwork, conflict resolution, and personal accountability.
Students walk away with a values‑based framework they can apply in school, leadership roles, and life.
Students leave with:
A values-based leadership framework
Tools for goalsetting and collaboration
A stronger sense of agency and community responsibility
