The Armoured Self Defense program is engineered to address the most common assault situations using non-aggressive techniques based on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Boxing, with an emphasis on conflict de-escalation. The program is short, comprehensive, and accessible to everyone. Most importantly, it is brought to you for free, in your own community center.
Our goal is to see the Armoured Self Defense program taught in every community by their own community members. For this reason, we encourage everyone to follow a training to become an Armoured coach yourself after completion in the program, so you may carry on the classes and continue to empower your community!
We would love to see the Armoured program taught in a community by its own community members! We designed our program to be simple enough so that you can train without any previous experience in martial arts. After completion of the program, you may receive a special training to become an Armoured coach yourself, and carry on the program in your community. If you haven't completed the program yet, you may host an Armoured class that we would be taught by an Armoured coach. If interested in becoming an Armoured coach or an Armoured host, contact us so we can discuss what works best for you and your community!
Each lesson is an hour long and is generally organized as follows:
*Sparring means "fighting" with a training partner with no intention to hurt them. Some people aren't comfortable with sparring, which is why it will always be optional. However, sparring is highly encouraged for it's positive impact on your training as well as on your physical and mental health. It allows you to develop an ability to remain calm in stressful situations, and acquire the muscle memory necessary to reproduce the technique in the future. In addition to being a killer work-out and help restaure a healthy body-positive self-image, sparring brings you the confidence you need to defend yourself by giving you an opportunity to prove to yourself that you are indeed able to perform the technique flawlessly, even with a defending partner!
*Drilling means repeating several time an exercise that was already assimilated, with the purpose of developing muscle memory. Drilling is essential for our student to be able to perform the techniques with ease in any situations.
