I am a full professor of economics at IMT School for Advanced Studies in Lucca, Italy, where I teach econometrics, macroeconomics, and international economics to PhD students.
I am specifically interested in topics of international economics, environmental economics, industrial organization, applied econometrics, and machine learning.
My most recent works focus on international knowledge transfer, the organization of multinational enterprises, green patents, global value chains, firms' cybersecurity, global firms' international market power, the socio-economic evaluation of trade policies, and the integration of econometric and machine learning tools for policy evaluation.
💡I am the founder and director of the newly established Laboratory on Firms Markets Technologies at the IMT School for Advanced Studies.
💡 I am the scientific advisor for IMT School of the laboratory activities at the Observatory on Foreign Firms in Italy, an initiative with Confindustria and LUISS, whose objectives are to evaluate the impact of multinational companies' presence and identify the factors that both retain and attract foreign investors in Italy.
I have been a consultant on international trade and investment issues for the European Commission, the OECD, and the United Nations Conference for Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
In the past, I visited the Paris School of Economics, Collegio Carlo Alberto, the Bank of France, and Sciences Po.
