Quick Start Guide for 3D Printing

1. Create a TinkerCAD account.
2. Create a model of your object.
3. Save the file as a .STL file. Make sure all the components are grouped (or exported).
4. Import the .STL file into Tinkerine Suite v2.0 program.
5. In Tinkerine Suite v2.0, you can add supports or adjust the size, orientation, wall thickness, etc.
6. When you are ready, click SLICE - do not miss this step!
7. Record the following info: printing time, number of grams of material, and percent scaling. You do not need to save the .g file. *
8. Give library staff the original .STL file and sign-up for 3D printing :)

Our 3D Printing Guidelines

1. Each gram of material costs 7.5 cents. (So a 10 g print will cost $0.75).
2. 3D prints should not exceed 10 g or 1 hour of printing when there is high demand.
3. Only medium resolution with sparse fill is allowed.
4. No 3D prints will be done overnight (once the library closes).
5. If the 3D print messes up due to user error, the amount of material used will be charged to the user.
6. Users are not allowed to print weapons in the library.
7. Please check in with library staff about how to provide the .STL file for printing.
8. Colour options (from left to right): clear, grey, "clear sky" blue, red, green, purple, yellow, or "soda" blue
