Racing Divisions

Stock

The Stock division is designed to give the first-time builder a learning experience.

Boys and girls, 7 through 14 compete in simplified cars built from kits purchased from the All-American.

These kits assist the Derby novice by providing a step-by-step layout for construction of a basic lean forward style car.

Super Stock

The Super Stock Car division is designed to be able to be an entry level for an older child but also gives the competitor an opportunity to expand their knowledge and build a more advanced model.

Racers are between ages 9 through 19 and like the stock division makes use of kits and shells available from the International Soap Box Derby.

Masters

The Masters division offers boys and girls, 10 through 21, an advanced class of racer to try their creativity and design skills in. Masters entrants may purchase a Scottie Masters Kit with a fiberglass body from the International Soap Box Derby.

Super Kids

The Super Kids division is a Soap Box Derby® race for physically and mentally challenged children using specially designed cars where experienced soap box derby drivers help pilot a two person car with the Super Kid racer. Super Kid pilots and racers have the opportunity to work as a team and learn from each other. Winners from each local race advance to the world famous Derby Downs Track in Akron, Ohio for the world championship, which is held in conjunction with the FirstEnergy All-American Soap Box Derby Race. Arlington is in the process of developing an official Super Kids local program
