ANSWER: A. 1904. We were the first high school in Arlington ISD. Because of
that one of our mottos is “First Here, Best Here.”
Arlington High was originally located on what is now UTA.
ANSWER: True. If you drive north on Cooper St., you will see the UTA Social
Work building. Behind that lettering, you can still see some of the
old AHS lettering.
What is our mascot's name?
ANSWER: Li’l Arlie. Many years ago we used to have a real colt.
Our school colors are kelly green and white.
ANSWER: True. In recent years, we have added black as an accent color, but
our true school colors are kelly green and white. It’s even
mentioned in our fight song, “Sons of the white and green.”
Which of the following does Arlington High School have on campus?
ANSWER: All of the above. Soccer, football, track and cross country utilize the
field. In A hall, we have our Family and Consumer Science classes
that cook throughout the year. Be on the lookout for the cinnamon
rolls. They’re the best! Woodshop is located at the end of B hall, by
the brick wall. The pancake letters in the picture were not made in
the Family and Consumer Science classes. Our Colt Connections
students who mentor AHS students made those for teacher
appreciation.
Counseling offices are located in which hallway?
ANSWER: A Hall. There are two counseling offices in A hall. Hopefully you have
spoken to your counselor. Mr. Nute, Mrs. Kemp, Ms. Hancock, and
Ms. Hargrove are located in A103. Mrs. Horne, Mrs. Perez, Ms. White,
Mr. Richardson, and Mr. Poling are located in the Main Counseling
Office.
The band hall, choir room, auditorium, and orchestra hall are all located in B hall.
ANSWER: False. The orchestra hall is located at the end of D hall. Band,
choir, and the auditorium (along with theatre classes) are in B hall.
Who is this?
ANSWER: Our principal, Dr. Dhalla. He helped our campus develop our
mantra, COLTS Family, which he explained in his video. Do you
remember what words go with each letter? C- Commitment O-
Ownership L- Loyalty T- Toughness S-Selflessness. We live by these
words at AHS and hope you will find ways these words fit into your
life as well.
The library is located in which hallway?
ANSWER: D hall. It’s open before school, during lunch, and after school.
Attendance offices are located in every hallway.Be sure to have a
pass from a teacher during lunch. Mrs. Beane, our librarian, is the
best! So be sure to check out the library when we’re back on
