About Me

Hi, I'm Arlie Honeycutt Kidd! I'm from Garner, North Carolina, and currently reside in the Triangle with my husband Evan and our labrador Stella

I received my undergraduate degree in Music from East Carolina University. In addition to singing with the a capella group the Magnolia Belles, I was also a member of the internationally recognized East Carolina University Chamber Singers. I was honored to receive the 2015 Outstanding Senior Award for the ECU Department of Vocal Studies. In 2017, I completed my Masters degree in Vocal Performance at Louisiana State University.

In 2012, I was honored to be named the 75th Miss North Carolina. I paused my studies for a year in order to travel the state as a performer, speaker, and advocate for the Miss America Organization and our national platform, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. I was thrilled to earn a Most Talented Nonfinalist Award at the 2013 Miss America Competition. When I returned to college after my year of service, I worked as the Worship Arts instructor at Jarvis United Methodist Church, where I led a weekly music program for elementary school children. During this time, I realized how much I truly enjoyed working with kids— it was a thrill to be a small part of the formative experiences that sparked their interest in the arts.

I served as a performing arts teacher for three years. Additionally, I work each summer at the Towne Players Summer Theatre camp as their music director.

In my spare time, I continue to perform across the Triangle. Some of my favorite roles include Ariel in Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, Miss Silverpeal in Der Schauspieldirektor, and Luisa in The Fantasticks.
