During dose bacter
After 30min - 1 hour
Day 1
Day 7 (before WC)
Day 10
Day 14 (before WC)
On Day 1
- Notes: You need an ammonia source which is soil or fish food (pallets).
Don't open your lighting source or photoperiod, let the tank in dark. BUT if your tank already has plants, just run your photoperiod as usual. Don't turn on your UV if you have one in tank.
- Setup everything and run your tank as usual without livestock
- If your tank not using soil, take 1 teaspoon fish food and pour direct into the tank
- Take a cup of water from your tank, put ARK Bacter in the cup let it dilute, and pour straight to your tank or surface skimmer
Day 2 : Dose bacter as usual step, measure your ammonia (NH3), nitrite (NO2) and nitrate (NO3) if necessary
Day 3 : Dose bacter as usual step, measure your ammonia (NH3), nitrite (NO2) and nitrate (NO3) if necessary
Day 4 : Dose bacter as usual step, measure your ammonia (NH3), nitrite (NO2) and nitrate (NO3) if necessary
Day 5 : Dose bacter as usual step, measure your ammonia (NH3), nitrite (NO2) and nitrate (NO3) if necessary
Day 6 : Dose bacter as usual step, measure your ammonia (NH3), nitrite (NO2) and nitrate (NO3) if necessary
Day 7 : Performed 50% waterchange (WC), dose bacter as usual step, measure your ammonia (NH3) should be 0ppm, nitrite (NO2) and nitrate (NO3) still 10ppm or higher, aquarium tank is in good cycle process. If not continue Day 8.
Day 8 : Dose bacter as usual step, measure your ammonia (NH3), nitrite (NO2) and nitrate (NO3) if necessary
Day 9 : Dose bacter as usual step, measure your ammonia (NH3), nitrite (NO2) and nitrate (NO3) if necessary
Day 10 : Dose bacter as usual step, If ammonia (NH3) + nitrite (NO2) value is 0ppm, nitrate (NO3) reading 10ppm or higher, aquarium tank is cycled, and performed 50% waterchange (WC). IF NOT continue dose for Day 11, 12, 13 (do test kit step as previous)
Day 14 : Performed 50% waterchange (WC), dose bacter as usual step, This day you ammonia (NH3) + nitrite (NO2) + nitrate (NO3) value is 0ppm, aquarium tank is cycled.
Final : Start to intro some animal / livestock slowly, start aquarium light and co2 (if play planted tank). Don't forget to Enjoy your aquascaping!
During dose bacter
After 30min - 1 hour
1st week & 2nd week
3rd week & 4th week (after WC)
On Day 1
- Notes: You need an ammonia source which is dead prawn (market shrimp) or fish food (pallets). Don't open your lighting source or photoperiod, let the tank in dark. Don't turn on your Protien Skimmer or UV light.
- Setup everything and run your tank as usual without livestock
- Put 1 dead prawn or 1 teaspoon fish food (directly into the tank, let it stay for 24h)
- Take a cup of water from your tank, put ARK Bacter in the cup let it dilute, and pour straight to your tank.
Day 2 : Measure your ammonia (NH3) it must have a reading. Take out the dead prawn from aquarium. If NH3 reading still zero, let the dead prawn stay another 24h. Dose bacter as usual step, measure your ammonia (NH3), nitrite (NO2) and nitrate (NO3) if necessary
Day 7 : Dose bacter as usual step, measure your ammonia (NH3) and nitrite (NO2) show value 0ppm, nitrate (NO3) still 0.25ppm or higher, aquarium tank is in good cycle process. Performed 20% waterchange (WC) but if not continue Day 8.
Day 10 : Dose bacter as usual step, If ammonia (NH3) + nitrite (NO2) value is 0ppm, nitrate (NO3) reading 10ppm or higher, aquarium tank is cycled, and performed 20% waterchange (WC). IF NOT continue dose for Day 11, 12, 13 (do test kit step as previous)
Day 14 : Performed 20% waterchange (WC), dose bacter as usual step, This day you ammonia (NH3) + nitrite (NO2) value is 0ppm and nitrate (NO3) value is 10ppm or higher, aquarium tank is cycled.
Final : Start to intro some animal / livestock slowly, start aquarium light. Don't forget to Enjoy your reefing !
Notes: Keep dosing bacter until get sign of diatoms then you can stop dose it. Then you will face ugly phase. After ugly phase end start to intro some coral slowly. We mean it. Slowly!
