TAKUNGAN

The task of this project is for students to design a refreshment corner with an eatery and other related facilities for visitors to use and enjoy at the urban forest, Hutan Bandar Majlis Bandaraya Iskandar Puteri in the suburb called Mutiara Rini. The refreshment corner should reflect the identity of the urban forest which area "tropical" and "vernacular architecture". The design shall be able to dialogue with surrounding natural and architectural settings, as well as mediate between global modernity and local cultural contexts. 

Takungan is known as a water reservoir that collects water from rainfall. The concept of a puddle is implemented as we know puddles occur when rainwater is accumulated inside. People can use this space to meditate while enjoying the sound of the rainfall during rain.
