My research is in Geometric Group Theory. My interests include actions on trees and minimal volume entropy.
Reading Group
I have been involved in a reading group at Wesleyan for the past few years. We read a paper as a group over one or two semesters and took turns presenting. It is so fun learning math with others, and this was one of my favorite things I did at Wesleyan. I hope to start or get involved with a reading group wherever I get a job! My favorite papers we read were
Rigidity of quasi-isometries for some hyperbolic buildings by Bourdon and Pajot. They show that for a class of negatively curved hyperbolic buildings, every quasi-isometry is a bounded distance from an isometry.Â
Finite index rigidity of hyperbolic groups by Lazarovich. He shows that every non-elementary hyperbolic group is finite index rigid. This means that every two finite index isomorphic subgroups have the same index.
