BIO
Ariana Pickard is a multidisciplinary artist currently living and working in Montreal, Quebec. She works with digital and traditional illustration, ceramics, fibres, and printmaking practices. A key aspect of her work is the heavy use of text, both with and without corresponding drawings. The intersection of art and words is fundamental to the function of her work, being to involve the viewer and allow them to reflect inward. The subject matter for said work revolves around universal experiences, sharing moments of fear, guilt, insecurity, and love. She does however practice and produce both conceptual and material/aesthetically concerned work.
Ariana Pickard attended Etobicoke School of the Arts for Contemporary Art and was awarded the William H. Williams award upon graduating. She currently attends Concordia University for Studio Arts where she continues her practice.
