So what did I do. I opened Process Monitor on Windows, checked what Natives Access and NTKdaemon where actually doing. NTKdaemon downloads a metalink that it puts in the c:\Windows\Temp folder. Then it sends the location to aria2c.exe to download it.

Ok, so. I got aria2c. Gave the metalink file to aria2c and activated logging. Then I always got the following error: 2023-11-30 17:00:10.746046 [DEBUG] [FeedbackURISelector.cc:77] No URI returned from selectFaster()

Today I thought, but what if I'm right? What if it is Native Instruments network that is the issue. Let's try to activate a system wide VPN connection. And yes, suddenly it's able to provide an URI and able to download.

The sad thing is. Support isn't capable enough to register the information I gave them and reroute it to the technical team. Or at least I never saw any aknowledgement they are doing anything with my information. So my last hope is that someone from NI is roaming this comunity and does something about it.

I'm happy I got it resolved for myself. And I can only hope it gets fixed forever by NI. As not everyone has access to a VPN service. And it shouldn't be needed to have one to make their downloader work.

NI usually claim VPN services are WHY downloads are slow/fail. You know, got to make sure no cold war-targeted countries are also buying their products. Just because oligarchy/governments are starting wars, doesnt mean companies cant also get into that action am I right? Its what the people want!

I am currently using Inno Download Plugin to download files for my installer, the biggest problem with this is that it fails to download the file correctly. Because of many reasons like bad connection. I would like to add an alternative method to download files, so the user may chose if he want regular way, or a torrent way. I know that I can use aria2c.exe app. Can someone help me with implementing it to the code of inno setup?

If Windows not working quite right for you, or if startup is taking a long time, or aria2c.exe is causing problems for you, a good Windows diagnostic tool may very well help. This is especially effective when it comes to older computers that have accumulated vast quantities of "garbage data" as the result of many software installs and uninstalls.

Hey people. Aria2c is a program from levelup games, it downloads the game that you are downloading, I discovered that because I`ve canceled the program on task manager and levelup games manager stopped working. So, unless if you are downloading some levelup games trought the levelup games manager, u shouldn't remove that.

@Lucas: Could it be as Gabriel says, a downloader (game related?) that runs in the background?

Application: Kiwix

Category: Office

Description: Kiwix is an offline reader for Web content. It's especially intended to make Wikipedia available offline. This is done by reading the content of the project stored in a ZIM file, a high compressed open format with additional metadata.

Kiwix always worked very well on my 32-bit laptop, Windows XP. Now I try to install Kiwix on a 64-bit laptop, Windows 7 Pro. When I want to download the Spanish, English and Dutch parts the laptop comes to standstill. If I close Kiwix and re-open it, it says I can't open Kiwix because it's still running, but I can't see it!

What goes wrong? And even more important, who can help to fix it? Thanks.
