The Augmented Reality book application named 'AR English' is developed for the sole purpose of research. It is part of a post graduate research project by a PhD student working on designing effective learning materials for English as a second/ foreign language for young learners of English.
AR English stores the Name, email address, school name, grade and section at registration.
The email address is used for sending the 'Reset password' link, incase the user forgets his/ her password.
The information about school, grade and section will be used 'anonymously' to identify the number of students who have used this application from different schools, grades and sections, for identifying the effectiveness of this intervention as compared to students from other sections in the same grade, who have not used this application. The user's name is used to display at the Profile Page.
AR English requests access to the camera because it is an Augmented Reality application which needs to view the textbook pages for activating the AR content over the book pages for example the 3D objects in Vocabulary section for students to interact with them and learn vocabulary.
The camera does not record or save any data.
Students can request to delete their account at any time by sending an email to the researcher, Masuda Ahmad, on her email address: masudaqureshi@gmail.com. Users will have to provide their email address and name in the email with the subject: I opt to delete my account at AR English.
