Area Shield may use the following information locally on your device:
Area Shield uses Android call-screening features to decide whether an incoming call should be allowed or blocked based on your settings.
This may include:
the incoming phone number
the normalized phone number
the matching block or allow rule
the reason a call was allowed or blocked
This information is used only to provide call-blocking functionality.
If you choose to enable the “Allow Contacts” feature, Area Shield may request access to your contacts.
Contacts are used only to check whether an incoming caller is saved in your contacts so that saved contacts can ring through.
If you block a saved contact, Area Shield may optionally mark that contact as send-to-voicemail on your device. This is done locally and is not uploaded.
Area Shield does not upload your contacts.
Area Shield does not sell your contacts.
Area Shield does not share your contacts.
Contacts are checked locally on your device.
Area Shield stores your app settings locally on your device, including:
selected state presets
blocked area codes
blocked prefixes
blocked phone numbers
blocked contacts
allowed phone numbers
privacy and protection settings
These settings are stored locally on your device.
Area Shield may keep a local audit log so you can understand what happened when calls were allowed or blocked.
The audit log may include:
phone number
date and time
decision such as blocked or allowed
reason for the decision
matched rule
The audit log stays on your device unless you choose to export it.
Area Shield may allow you to import or export your rules.
Export only happens when you choose it.
Import only happens when you choose a file.
Area Shield does not automatically upload exported files.
If you share an exported file with someone else, that is your choice and responsibility.
Area Shield does not require internet access for call blocking.
Area Shield does not use a cloud spam database.
Area Shield does not upload call data to a server.
Area Shield does not use cloud analytics.
If Google Play Billing is used for a lifetime unlock purchase, purchase processing is handled by Google Play.
Area Shield may offer a one-time lifetime unlock purchase through Google Play.
Purchases are processed by Google Play. Area Shield does not receive or store your payment card information.
Area Shield does not sell your personal information.
Area Shield does not share your contacts, call rules, audit logs, or phone numbers with third parties.
Area Shield stores app settings and audit logs locally on your device.
If you uninstall the app, local app data may be removed by Android depending on your device and backup settings.
Area Shield is not directed to children. The app is intended for general phone utility use.
Area Shield is designed to minimize data collection. The app works locally on your device and avoids unnecessary data sharing.
