Did you know?

If you complete the following training you can be hired by BC Wildfire Services to help fight wildfires in our area, and get paid.  

• S100 (Basic Wildfire Suppression)

• S185 (Wildfire Entrapment Avoidance)

•  ICS (Incident Command System)

Note: S100 and S185 are often offered as a package deal and typically takes two days to complete.  These require an annual refresher recertification in order to keep certification current and valid.  ICS is an online course that you can do at home.  

Good to know...
You must be at least 18 years old to legally work as a wildland firefighter in British Columbia. This age requirement is primarily tied to WorkSafeBC regulations, which prohibit anyone under 18 from operating chainsaws or performing high-risk duties in the workplace.
