Area 13 Special Olympics provides free sports training and athletic competition for those with intellectual disabilities. Athletes are given opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and share skills and friendship. Area 13 serves Winchester, Frederick and Clarke Counties VA. We are an all-volunteer organization and rely on support from our local community.
Sports Training! We offer: basketball, bowling, bocce, golf, soccer, swimming, softball, track and field.
Be an athlete! Athletes must be 8 years old or above with an intellectual or physical disability. All athletes complete registration and physical forms.
Be a volunteer! Volunteers are essential to our success. We can find the best place to showcase your talents. All volunteers must contact our local program coordinator and complete registration forms.
Funding. We are financially supported by our community and fundraising efforts. Check out our current fundraisers Eats & Athletes Club. Contact our local program coordinator for additional ways to donate.
