Off-the Grid Cooling for Equine Applications

Why Off-the-Grid Cooling?

A common problem in the equine industry is heat stress in horses during the summer months. Excessive sweating, due to heat, can cause a loss of electrolytes that is the main cause of cramping, exertional myopathy, and exhaustion (Marcella, K. 2001). Current shade structures do not provide the necessary wind velocity to effectively keep the horses comfortable. The goal is to build an off-grid moveable structure that moves air fast enough to cool the horses and rid them of the additional stress.
