Scholars and Parents, we are so excited to be with you this 2025/2026 school year with you. Our desire for this year is that we would truly adhere to our Athenian Pledge each day, and that we would seek Truth, Goodness, and Beauty in all we do.
Our goal as a third grade team this year is to foster a love of reading in every child. To paraphrase Aristotle, "You become what you do," and therefore it is our goal that students have a book with them to read during any down time. In the classroom we provide a literature rich environment and have many books that students may choose from to read when they finish work early. Please help your child choose a book to keep in their backpack that they will read during Reading Groups/Dismissal Time. This book should be a book they can enjoy independently and not contain pop culture (ie. Dork Diaries, Captain Underpants, etc). If you need suggestions of appropriate books, we are happy to help!
Please contact your teacher with any questions!
