Biruni OS will use the GNOME desktop environment. The OS also uses Oracle Linux, but you could also use Debian OS for it if you want it. It will have a built in shop called Biruni Store, the biruni store is really easy to use, because just click on a app, then click on download, then you have downloaded your app. Biruni OS comes with web-apps such as HubofBiruni, Caton South, Stoky, Node Studios, Biruni Archive, and so much more apps that you can use! But those apps are proprietary software, so if you use them, then you can't have their source-code. But Biruni OS itself is open-source. but you could remove those apps that are proprietary apps if you want to.
