Are you taking the Architecture Board Exams? The Logbook of Diversified Experience in Architecture (DEA or DAE) is a requirement prior to taking the board exams. It consists of minimum 3,840 hours, equivalent to two-years of various field of architectural practice which a board applicant must have undergone to prepare themselves for the exam. Experience in the practice of architecture must have been obtained during the previous ten years and in the categories identified in the Logbook. Candidates with fewer than 3,300 hours of practical experience meeting the Performance Criteria will not be admitted to the examination. Check the Logbook section of the Guide for Candidates for detailed guidance on the required performance criteria and associated levels of experience, noting that experience gained by candidates when working independently or working as an employee of a non-architectural firm must be gained at Executive (decision making) Level.

The APE is a national competency-based assessment in accordance with the 2021 National Standard of Competency for Architects (2021 NSCA). The 2021 NSCA identifies the skills, knowledge and capabilities required for the general practice of architecture in Australia.

In WA, there are three pathways to registration. Which pathway an applicant takes depends on whether the applicant possesses a professional qualification in architecture or not, and if the professional qualification is from an accredited course or not.

The purpose of the Architectural Practice Examination (APE) is to ensure that persons applying to be registered as an architect in any State or Territory in Australia have adequate knowledge and understanding of the practice of architecture in Australia and a capacity to exercise professional skill.

The graduate student must have completed the degree of Master of Architecture, and, in the judgement of the relevant selection panel, have demonstrated excellence in their studies and be likely to benefit from undertaking further research and/or study (which may, but is not required to, include travel) in order to pursue a career in architecture, as a registered architect.

Kenneth Frampton was born in 1930 and trained as an architect at the Architectural Association School of Architecture. From 1972 to 2019 he served as Ware professor of architecture at the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, Columbia University. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters. In 2018, he was awarded the Golden Lion of the Venice Biennale. His publications include Studies in Tectonic Culture: the Poetics of Construction in Nineteenth and Twentieth Century Architecture; Labour, Work and Architecture: Collected Essays on Architecture and Design; American Masterworks: The Twentieth-Century House; Kengo Kuma: Complete Works; A Genealogy of Modern Architecture: Comparative Critical Analysis of Built Form; Modern Architecture: A Critical History; and Le Corbusier.

If you have two or more mentors, then you will be needing an affidavit for each mentor plus a page for the overall summary. I suggest to start with making plans and schedule for the entire review. Complete your requirements ahead of time (filling in the logbook is not easy) and then dive into the National Building Code first. Can I count it on my OJT/logbook? I am not under any architects although the company has Architects assigned to its head office. Can they still sign my logbook?

Hi Ar. Nikita, ask ko lang if I handled projects at the same time, is it okay to to write it on the logbook even though their overlapping with the dates? Because most of my tasks per day is composed of different tasks from different projects. Thanks!

Is it possible to only shorten the recording duration of the logbook? Probably not, right? I think the logbook pulls its data out ob the home-assistant_v2.db.

Mogens Prip-Buus, one of Utzon's closest colleagues, reports that the term was coined in 1965 in Utzon's Sydney office when, after a discussion of the social structures in Britain and Denmark, Utzon suddenly jumped up and wrote "Additive Architecture" on the wall. He saw it as part of an additive world where both natural and cultural forms contributed to additive systems and hierarchies. He realized that his own architecture reflected the same principle, just as the transitions in primitive societies between family, village and the surrounding world have visible links revealing differences, relations and distances.[2]

Utzon observed the additive approach in Chinese temples whose stacked timber structures are basically identical, differing only with the size of the building. In his "Additive Architecture" manifesto in 1970, he tells us how he saw the phenomenon reflected in a group of deer at the edge of a forest or in the pebbles on a beach, convincing him that buildings should be designed more freely rather than in identical box shapes. Earlier, in 1948, he had expressed the same ideas in an essay titled "The Innermost Being of Architecture" stating: "Something of the naturalness found in the growth principle in nature ought to be a fundamental idea in works of architecture."[3]

Intrigued by the parallels he saw between patterns of growth in nature and vernacular architectures, Jorn Utzon developed a succession of projects based on open-ended building systems. Christened 'Additive Architecture' in the office in Sydney, these ranged from the timber 'Espansiva' housing to a majestic precast concrete stadium complex in Saudi Arabia.
