Archie Eka is an illustrator based in Jakarta, Indonesia. He love drawing since childhood. He create artworks that evoke anger and energy as if wanting to vent his emotion and passion through illustration. Graduated in animation, he is inspired by gesture drawings and animated movies.  When you look at his artworks, you might catch the expression and motion through the moment when he wants to "hit" something: where there is action, there's reaction. He reacts what he captures something through drawings.

His practice blends the personal experience in the past with emotions he explore. Explosion is the main focus of the entire stories. Lines, lines, multiple lines, creates a motion and explosion based on his feelings as he captures life itself: that life is full of surprise. Gesture as his main tool to capture the essence of motion and emotions. Non-figurative crowd-like characters are the subject of daily collective euphoria which are connected each other sharing same energy as they act and react things. His bold, vibrant color choices define his childhood memories when he used to play video games and watching movies, he amazed by the power of color as emotions. His love of musics, especially jazz, as one of his biggest inspiration, drive him to express his inner truthful feelings as he releases his emotions under circumstances.

Besides art, he likes to watch movies, swimming, martial arts training, and eating/drinking. He is interested with sports, musics, dance, F&B, animals, and films.
