Hello and welcome to my homepage. I am currently an Assistant Professor in the Quantitative Methods and Operations Management area at the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode, India. Before this, I completed my PhD in Mathematics from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune, where I enrolled in 2019 as an Integrated PhD student after earning my Bachelor’s degree in Statistics from St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous), Kolkata.
My thesis was supervised jointly by Prof. Moumanti Podder (Department of Mathematics, IISER Pune) and Prof. Soudeep Deb (Decision Sciences area, Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore). Broadly, my research interests include:
Nonparametric statistics (Time series analysis, detection of structural breaks, lack-of-fit testing, shape-constrained regression, benign overfitting)
Statistical theory of deep learning
Memory-induced random walks
Non-Euclidean statistics, time-dependent data on planar and curved regions
Financial econometrics
Random graphs and network models
Beyond academia, I love spending my time reading books and watching films. My specific interests lie in Urdu poetry, feminist literature as well as the history of theatre and fine arts.
