I'm looking for researchers as follows:
(NEW) 1 Ph.D. student, most likely starting Aug 2024 (exceptionally in Jan 2024) on the topic of "3D spatial sensing and spatial computing". This is part of the new M3S NRF CREATE program, led by MIT. See here for the detailed PhD description.
Another PhD student in the broad area of multi-modal AI for human-machine interaction, with a special focus on online learning.

I am Vice Provost (Research) and Lee Kong Chian Professor of Computer Science in the School of Computing & Information Systems at Singapore Management University. My primary research interests are in the areas of:

Prior to joining SMU, I spent over a decade as an industrial researcher, including stints as: a Senior Scientist at Telcordia Technologies, Piscataway, NJ (2008-2010), Research Staff Member at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center, Hawthorne, NY (2001-2008) and Research Scientist at Bellcore, Morristown, NJ (2001-2008). I'm a Distinguished Member of the ACM and a Senior Member of the IEEE.
