Ananya is a PhD Candidate in Health Communication at the University of Alabama’s College of Communication & Information Sciences and serves as adjunct communication faculty at Ivy Tech Community College, Kokomo. Her research interests lie at the intersection of health and organizational communication with particular focus on narrative communication, mental health and well-being, health promotion, and campaign messages. Her educational background is in business and management, and she brings over nine years of teaching experience, having served as a senior lecturer (2016–2021), teaching assistant (2022–2024), and most recently, adjunct faculty (Summer 2025- present). Ananya has presented her research at national and regional conferences. She was awarded the top student paper award in Health Communication Division at SSCA 2025. Passionate about community service, Ananya volunteered as the graduate student representative for the Health Communication Division at the Southern States Communication Association (2024-2025) and as secretary of the International Student Association at University of Alabama (2022 - 2023) among others. She has collaborated with esteemed faculties and colleagues on multiple projects, including work with the Environmental Health Research Group and the Health Communication and Biometrics Lab.
