As we begin this program, we want to acknowledge that we gather on the homeland of the Pequossette band of the Massachusetts tribe. We gather on the unceded land in the place called, Pigsgusset, which means the widening of the river. We make this acknowledgment to offer recognition for the original people who lived here, and were stewards of the land for over 10,000 years, as well as their descendants living here now. It is important to recognize that Indigenous Stewardship of the land is the only way to ensure our planet's survival.
