Campership Program
The ACCC sponsors a Campership Program which is designed to give low-income youth in Arcadia, ages 18 and under, a chance to participate in camps and recreational activities that they may not otherwise be able to afford.
In 2019, we raised over $15,000 and sent 105 underprivileged children and youth in Arcadia to a variety of camps:
Eighteen Arcadia High School students attended Arcadia Music Camp, a weeklong resident camp in Idyllwild, and one high school student spent one week at a resident Dance Camp for Orchesis.
Twenty-one elementary students attended one week of Day or Sports Camps sponsored by the City of Arcadia and another seven children took multi-week classes at Arcadia Recreation.
Twelve high school youth participated in a high school athletic class series, sponsored by the Arcadia High School Boosters Club.
Twelve elementary and middle school students attended a weeklong resident camp at Camp Cedar Falls, San Bernardino Mountains.
Four elementary children went to a week day camp for the Jr. Blind.
Twelve youths took a full day excursion to Magic Mountain, while another twelve youths went to Knott's Berry Farm for the day.
Thirty children were treated to a matinee movie & popcorn.
