Method 1 (Stages 0, 1 and 3)

  • Two plasterboard layers.
  • Screw fixings.
  • Joints and screws covered with paper tape and mastic.

Method 2 (Stage 2)

  • One plasterboard layer.
  • Screw fixings.
  • Joints and screws covered with paper tape and mastic.

Construction process

  • Attachment panel by panel.
  • Connections based on XLam screws.
  • Forklift required to lift panels (provided by QFES).
  • Plasterboard attached after assembly of the CLT box.

Example of construction method

Decommission process

  • Detachment of plasterboard after cool down of the compartment, cleaning the false floor and removal of false floor.
  • Detachment of CLT panels.
  • Piling of CLT panels onsite.

Types of compartments

  • Type A. All internal surfaces are attached 2 layers of plasterboard (encapsulation method 1).
  • Type B. All but two internal surfaces are attached 2 layers of plasterboard (encapsulation method 1).
  • Type C. All but two internal surfaces are attached 1 layer of plasterboard (encapsulation method 2).
  • Type D. All but three internal surfaces are attached 2 layers of plasterboard (encapsulation method 1).

False floor system

The false floor system is made of the following layers:

  • 100 mm Rockwool Beamclad.
  • 13 mm Knauf FireShield Plasterboard.
  • 10-20 mm chipboard.
  • 50 mm timber joists.
  • 100 mm scales.
