Arbor is the latin word for tree. I chose this name because of the note organisation framework I built into the app.
Orginally I bought an ipad to take notes easier, but I was suprised to see there wasn't a perfect app. Not saying that mine is, but I felt there was no real orginization built into these other apps except for some simple folder stuff. Another goal I had in mind was the cost. If im going to shell out 1000 dollars for an ipad and pencil, im not gonna pay to take notes. Thats just my rule I guess.
So I hopped onto my laptop and whenever I had a spair minute, I worked on it. The code started as a white background and being able to draw with the apple pencil. That was it. Then it became a more worked drawing engine. But I felt like it needed something special. A way to stand this app out. A way to fill in the gaps in modern note taking. Thats when it hit me, orgnising notes in such a way that it displayed how a subject or concept or idea came from a little root to a full tree. Granted, a quick look at this app will show the tree upside down but that's ok.
Lots of changes to come, but I will continue with my three no's:
No data collection
No cost
No bullshit
