The thesis supervisor, mentor and the man who taught me how to do science. We met in 2021 when I was assigned to him as MTech student. He skillfully handled my weak geology background and turned me into an independent thinker. He is one of the few persons I know who have unmatched enthusiasm when it comes to science and I will be lucky to even get fraction for it.
My labmate and fieldmate at IIT Kanpur. We met in 2022 when he also joined as PhD student under Dr. Rabiul Biswas. He is very focussed and clean worker when it comes to lab and intellectual thinking. When it comes to tough field in remote areas, he becomes hardcore field mate. We did 4 rigorous fields together in Himalaya. Thus, he got the name of "Ibex Jena".
We met in 2022 at IISER Kolkata on the occasion of short workshop on luminescence dating organized by ALD. His jolly and approachable nature lead to our short discussion on seismology. Luckily, I got collaboration opportunity with him in 2024. He made my work and stay at NGRI extremely joyous and efficient.
He is seasoned veteran glacial geomorphologist. He led my field investigation in 2023 (where I met him first time) in Jankar Valley Himalaya. The tough and challenging fields in remote Himalaya won't be enjoyable or possible without him. We also did another field in Alaknanda Valley in 2025. He is one the very few researchers who led highest number of extensive fields in Himalaya.
A dedicated friend and colleague, I had the pleasure of meeting him during my visit to NGRI for OSL measurements. His helpful and energetic nature made my work at NGRI smooth and ensured that I met my deadlines. Beyond the lab, we explored Hyderabad together on several occasions, and he introduced me to the city’s finest cuisine. A wonderful, charismatic person — both professionally supportive and personally delightful to be with.
