By Charles Godfrey Leland

"Thee do I seek, Aradia…Aradia…Aradia,
Thee do I seek, Aradia…Aradia…Aradia,
Thee do I seek, Aradia…Aradia…Aradia.
Oh Aradia, my Aradia,
Thou who art the daughter of Him
Who was and is most beautiful among Celestials,
The Morning Star who once reigned infernally when driven from the skies,
Who by his sister Diana did thy Father become,
But as thy Mother did repent Her fault,
And wished to mate thee to a spirit of benevolence.
Aradia, Aradia,
I implore thee by the love which She did bear for thee!
And by the love which I too feel for thee!
I pray that you grant me the grace that I require.
And if this grace be granted, may there be one of three signs
Distinctly clear to me:
The hiss of a serpent,
The light of a firefly,
The sound of a frog.
Aradia, Mighty Aradia!
Who by virtue of The Ways
Did defend thy people from the oppressors’ hammer
And the inquisitors’ snare.
I implore thee by the Spirit of Liberation,
Bestow unto me thy gifts,
Holy keys of the Arte Magickal.
Aradia…Aradia…Aradia,
I adore thee who art Queen of all Witchery.
First Among Witches,
Beautiful Pilgrim of Crescent and Flame,
Cast your light upon us,
And dispel the wickedness of our foes.
Ave, Ave, Ave, Aradia!”
