The Arabian Nights is a trackless suspended dark ride attraction, utilizing this new technology in order to differentiate it from the Trackless Dark Ride of the nearby Ratatouille, and to quickly make this attraction a staple of the World Showcase and the Morocco Pavilion as this would quickly. This would also blend perfectly with the whole theme of transversing through the mixture of the scenic lands of Morocco and it’s mythology, as this would allow us to take beautiful flights throughout, while also allowing for a slower view or faster momentum if needed.
In order to fit in with the setting and general history behind the family we are focusing on, our ride vehicles are designed after Flying Carpets. The ride vehicle takes after the ones seen in the Flat Ride, using extra cushioning to disguise the seating areas and preventing guests from jumping or being flung out of the vehicles. Since the ride needs (a) support cable(s), on all four sides of the ride vehicles and in between the seating areas are cable thin enough not to be seen by guests, but sturdy enough not to break. Since the vehicles are lower than most, guests will tend to get a better view of all the events occurring around the ride since the ride vehicles are flatter than the rest.
However this holds a safety hazard, since everyone is probably thinking about slipping out of the ride. Not to worry! This attraction has a seat belt, a bar going over your lap, and alarms if a seat belt/bar isn’t buckled or is disabled. If this occurs, the ride almost immediately freezes up to prevent any on ride injuries. The ride’s floor also has similar sensors, immediately disabling the ride in case it accidentally turns on during maintenance hours or if a guest falls onto it in order to prevent them both from being run over!
The ride, depending on it’s modes, has different speeds in different parts of the ride. The ride has a minimal speed in certain parts of the ride so vehicles don’t crash into each other. However, certain segments of the ride go extremely fast, and as a result has shock absorbers surrounding the disks and the ride vehicles. Also, ride vehicles are supposed to be appropriately spaced between another so they don’t crash into each other in case the shock absorbers aren’t enough.
Tilting mechanisms are applied to the cables, allowing the ride to tilt sideways, forwards, or backwards, although the tilt has its limits so you don’t straight up slip out of the ride. Height and Weight limits are to be applied appropriately. Cushions are also in the seating and are high enough so guests don’t get brain damage which match appropriately with the vehicle palettes and are regularly replaced in case some heathens tear them apart.
