Spring: I graduated from the International Baccalaurate Program within St. Petersburg High School.
Fall: I started as a 1st year pre-biomedical engineering major at the University of Florida. I participated in a Designathon, joined the Freshmen Leadership Engineering Group (FLEG), and learned Computer Aided Design (CAD).
I joined Dream Team Engineering's 24 hour Designathon and built an app called Nurturing Nutrition to educate children about common food allergens. Additionally, we created a website to help parents of children with food allergies.
As a member of the Freshmen Leadership and Engineering Group's Outreach committee, I organized 6 community outreach events while growing my professional skills. A highlight of this experience was raising more than $600 to donate to Peaceful Paths, an organization that supports domestic violence victims.
I took a semester-long Solidworks course where I learned CAD design, became familiar with GD&T, and passed the Solidworks Associate exam to earn my CSWA certificate. My final project was creating a kneeling chair that can convert from normal sitting to kneeling positions.
