Summary — Building on the success of the 1st Accelerated Quantum Supercomputing workshop held at IEEE QCE25, this second edition continues to advance the community dialogue on the path toward practical accelerated quantum supercomputing. The inaugural workshop brought together researchers and practitioners from academia, national laboratories, and industry, generating rich discussion across the quantum software, hardware, and integration landscape. This year, we build upon those foundations and encourage focused discussion around three areas of rapidly growing momentum in the community: (1) the role of agentic AI as a cross-cutting enabler across the quantum stack (hardware to software), (2) advances in the control, calibration, and error correction of quantum hardware towards reliable large-scale quantum computation, and (3) the convergence of HPC, AI, and quantum computing into a unified computational paradigm. Rather than a showcase of products or roadmaps, the workshop is designed as an opportunity to share actionable lessons learned, surface real-world pain points, and collectively chart the direction of the field. Attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of the engineering realities, AI-driven methodologies, and systems-level strategies that are collectively shaping the next phase of quantum-accelerated supercomputing.
Abstract — Building on the success of last year’s inaugural edition at IEEE QCE25, this workshop brings together experts from academia, national laboratories, and industry to address the operational challenges of building, running, and delivering results with quantum-accelerated supercomputers. Where the first edition surveyed the landscape across software, hardware, and integration, this second edition focuses on three converging frontiers that have gained significant momentum over the past year.
Keywords — Quantum computing, AI frameworks, HPC integration, Quantum hardware, Hybrid computing
Target Audience — The workshop will be of interest to a broad research community from national labs, academia, and industry working in high-performance computing (HPC) and quantum hardware, the intersection of quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and development. It is particularly relevant for researchers and engineers focused on AI-driven quantum frameworks, scalable quantum hardware architectures, and the integration of quantum accelerators within HPC environments. The invited speakers will represent expertise across these domains, ensuring a balanced discussion of theoretical advancements, practical implementations, and industry perspectives. We expect attendees with diverse backgrounds, including but not limited to quantum information science, AI for quantum computing, scientific computing, classical HPC, and system architecture design. The workshop will also be valuable for developers of quantum programming frameworks, compiler optimization strategies, and quantum networking protocols, as well as industry professionals working on hybrid quantum- classical computing solutions.
