About Me
Dr. Apurba Roy is working as an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Barishal, Bangladesh. Apurba obtained his PhD in Economics from the School of Economics and Finance, Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. His current research focuses on the economics of extreme weather events. Dr. Roy has also served as the Director of Research at the Bangladesh Relief Initiative for Communities in Khulna (BRICK), Virginia, USA. He graduated from Khulna University, Bangladesh with a Bachelor and Master's (Thesis) Degree with distinction majoring in Economics. He was awarded a Chancellor Gold Medal and a Prime Minister Gold Medal Award for his excellent academic achievements.
Dr. Roy is a recipient of a doctoral scholarship from the Chair in the Economics of Disasters and Climate Change.
Research Interests: Economics of extreme weather events, climate change adaptation, development economics
