The APSIPA Taipei Chapter held a focused Workshop on Emerging and Immersive Visual Media: Hardware, Compression, and 3D/4D Representation at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) on June 8, 2026. The event was organized by Prof. Wen-Hsiao Peng.

This workshop covered advanced topics such as spatial-temporal multi-modal Gaussian splatting, hardware design for video coding, post-training quantization for overfitted image compression, and neural coding for efficient 3D/4D multimedia representations, demonstrating critical breakthroughs across visual computing and immersive spatial media.

The APSIPA Taipei Chapter held a focused Workshop on Visual Signal Processing, Coding and Applications at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) on January 14, 2026. The event was organized by Prof. Wen-Hsiao Peng and co-organized by experts from NYCU, Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU), and National Chung Cheng University (CCU).

The workshop provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange on emerging techniques in neural video codecs, 3D geometry compression, and generative AI. Key presentations covered advanced topics such as Mamba-based point cloud compression, constrained viewpoint Gaussian splatting, and degradation modeling in diffusion models, highlighting significant advancements in visual computing and restoration.
