About the Session
The integration of advanced signal processing and artificial intelligence (AI) has opened transformative opportunities in healthcare, particularly with the rapid growth of multimodal data from speech, audio, biomedical signals (ECG, EEG, EMG), wearable sensors, and IoT-enabled smart devices. The ability to capture, process, and intelligently analyze such diverse signal modalities has immense potential to enhance early diagnosis, real-time monitoring, personalized care, and rehabilitation services.
Aligned with the APSIPA ASC '25 theme on “Signal and Information Processing in the Era of Multimodal AI”, this special session aims to bring together leading researchers and practitioners working at the intersection of signal processing, artificial intelligence, and biomedical engineering to address emerging challenges and solutions in healthcare applications. The session will cover a broad spectrum of topics, including speech and audio analysis for health diagnostics, biomedical signal processing for disease detection and monitoring, multimodal signal fusion, assistive and rehabilitative technologies, and remote healthcare solutions.
By facilitating interdisciplinary discussions, the session seeks to highlight real-world applications, scalable solutions, and translational research that can make impactful contributions to global healthcare systems, particularly in under-resourced and remote settings.
