April Flowers is an 18 year old singer/songwriter based in Edmonton, Alberta. She has been writing original music since she was 13 years old, encapsulating her personal experiences and the lives of those around her into her songs. Taking abstract ideas from her world and writing them into fantasy, she creatively incorporates elements of nature and literature into her alternative indie-pop tunes. She is currently performing at various venues across Edmonton and aspires to continue growing an authentic, heartfound sound as an independent music artist.

April Flowers preaches immortality through music, keeping fleeting moments and emotions alive forever through her lyrics. When writing music, she feels as if the lyrics do not come from her conscious self, but instead a part of her that isn't able to self-express outside the realm of music. Her goal is to keep that part of herself alive; to immortalize it, along with all the other parts of her that are calling out to be expressed and known by the outside world.

Art is a form of expression, and expression can be beautiful, sad, joyful, ugly, angry, loving, bittersweet, unfair, nostalgic, excited, jealous, or whatever the hell you want to express. Art isn’t meant to look all neat and pretty, it’s meant to make us feel something. And hell, does it make me feel things. So I guess what I’m trying to say is: the world needs to hold onto what art truly represents, and us artists need to grasp onto the freedom to splash colors onto canvases without judgement, to express a spectrum of emotions through music, and to create for the sole purpose to simply… Feel."
