App State Active Minds Fall 2026 - Spring 2027, Exec Applications & Election Information
Thank you so much for your interest in applying for an Active Minds executive (exec) position for the Fall 2026–Spring 2027 school year. Please review each officer position and its responsibilities below to determine which role(s) best fit you.
Application forms can be found at the bottom of this page and are due no later than Sunday, April 19 at 11:59 PM.
Elections will be held in person on Tuesday, April 21, from 5:00–6:00 PM in PSU 100.
If you apply for a position, please come prepared to give a 2–5 minute speech at the election meeting on April 21.
If you cannot attend in person, please email a video of your speech to appstateactiveminds@gmail.com no later than Monday, April 20th at 11:59 PM so we have time to review your video and add it to our meeting presentation.

Officer Duties and Responsibilities:
President:
Lead biweekly general meetings and executive meetings
Create meeting agendas and presentations
Send club emails (this role can be shared with the Vice President or alternated)
Send a newsletter the Sunday before each general meeting
Send a follow-up email after meetings with meeting minutes
Send email reminders about upcoming events and sign-up sheets
Coordinate events and activities
Collaborate with on-campus partners
Uphold exec members’ roles and responsibilities
Create sign-up sheets
Communicate directly and frequently with the Vice President and general exec
Vice President:
Oversee correspondence and booking of events
Manage and update the club’s Engage page and website as needed
Take over presidential responsibilities if one or both Presidents are absent
Facilitate group activities during meetings
Share and divide tasks with the President
Communicate directly and frequently with the President and general exec
Research Liaison:
Create presentations on mental health topics to share during meetings
Identify future meeting topics and potential guest speakers
Communicate with Co-Presidents about meeting topics and guest speakers
Complete presentations in a timely manner for exec approval
Use reliable evidence and research to support claims made during meetings
Secretary:
Maintain attendance records
To be considered for exec, attend a majority of meetings
Take meeting minutes
Complete meeting minutes in a timely manner after meetings so they can be shared with members
Manage memberships on Engage
Assist with event planning
Social Media Chair:
Stay up to date on upcoming events and meetings and create organized, visually appealing flyers for social media
Post flyers on Active Minds social media in a timely manner before events (typically 1–3 days prior)
Manage and run club social media accounts
Create Engage graphics for events and fundraisers
Interact with similar organizations on social media to help promote events
Shared Responsibilities of ALL Exec Members:
Attend biweekly meetings and Exec meetings (if you cannot attend a meeting, let other exec members know in advance)
Attend events and fundraisers if possible
Contribute ideas for events and activities
Maintain strong communication (communication is essential!)
Ask questions when needed
Share ideas, improvement points, and concerns
Ensure your roles and responsibilities are clear
Complete presentations on time
Help other exec members when needed
