Account & Data Deletion
At IISc Badminton Club, we believe you should have full control over your data. If you no longer wish to use the app, you can delete your account and associated personal data at any time.
How to delete your account inside the app:
You can instantly delete your account directly from within the app by following these steps:
1. Open the IISc Badminton Club app and log in.
2. Navigate to your Profile by tapping your avatar.
3. Tap the Settings (gear icon) in the top right corner.
4. Scroll down and tap "Delete Account".
5. Read the warnings and confirm your decision by tapping the red delete button.
Your account will be immediately deleted, and you will be logged out.
How to request data deletion via email:
If you no longer have access to the app, or prefer that an administrator processes your deletion, you can request account deletion via email:
- Send an email to iiscbadmintonclub@gmail.com
- Use the subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
- Include the email address associated with your account so we can verify your identity.
We will process your request and permanently delete your account within 7 business days.
What happens when your account is deleted?
When your account is deleted, the following actions are taken:
- Your personal profile (name, gender, racket preferences) is permanently erased.
- Your authentication credentials are permanently removed.
- Your device push tokens are deleted, and you will receive no further notifications.
- Note on Match History: To preserve the historical integrity of club tournaments and the ELO rating system, match records you participated in are not deleted. Instead, they are anonymised so they can no longer be linked back to you personally.
