App Nature & Disclaimer
PenSal is an independent, unofficial utility application. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or representing the Government of Pakistan, any provincial government, or any official pension, accounts, or revenue authority. Pay scale figures, income tax slabs, pension formulas, and statutory rules referenced in the App are derived from publicly accessible government publications and notifications, including:

All figures calculated by the App — including pension, salary, and income tax estimates — are for informational purposes only. For official pension processing, salary, or tax figures, consult your respective AGPR, provincial Accountant General office, or FBR.
Information We Collect
PenSal does not require account creation or login, and does not collect any information that identifies you personally.
The App uses Firebase, a set of services provided by Google, for the following limited purposes:
Firebase Analytics — to understand general, aggregated app usage patterns (such as which screens are used, button clicks, and feature interactions), so we can improve the App. This does not include your name, contact details, or any pension, salary, or tax figures you enter.
Firebase Crashlytics — to receive automatic crash reports (technical diagnostic data such as device model, Android version, and the point in the code where a crash occurred) so we can identify and fix bugs.
Firebase Cloud Messaging — to optionally send you push notifications (such as app update announcements). This uses a device-generated notification token that is not linked to your identity.
We do not collect or transmit your Google Advertising ID, and this is explicitly disabled in the App's code. The App currently displays no advertisements.
All pension, salary, and income tax calculations you perform — including any inputs, results, or history you choose to save — are processed and stored locally on your device only, and are never transmitted to us, to Firebase, or to any other third party.
Permissions
The current version of PenSal requests:
Notification permission (Android 13 and above) — solely to allow the App to display push notifications, if any are sent. You may decline this permission, and the App will continue to function normally without it.
The App does not request access to your location, camera, storage, or contacts.
Third-Party Services
PenSal uses Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, and Cloud Messaging) as described above. Firebase's handling of data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Future Features and Updates
We may introduce additional features in future updates, which could include:
Camera and/or storage access — to allow you to capture or import an image of your payslip so relevant figures can be extracted automatically instead of typed in manually. If added, this processing will be described in an updated version of this policy before the feature becomes active, and access will only be requested at the time you choose to use that feature.
Advertising — the App may display ads served by third-party ad networks (e.g., Google AdMob) in a future release.
In-app purchases and/or subscriptions — the App may offer optional paid features, a one-time purchase, or a subscription in a future release, processed through Google Play's billing system.
If any of these features are introduced, this Privacy Policy will be updated in advance to disclose what data is collected, which third-party services are involved, and what choices you have regarding that data.
We recommend checking this page periodically for updates. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent personal data. Limited technical and diagnostic data is shared with Firebase (a Google service) solely as described in Section 2, for analytics, crash reporting, and push notifications.
Children's Privacy
PenSal is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data Security
Your calculation inputs, results, and history remain on your device and are not transmitted off it. Diagnostic data sent to Firebase (as described in Section 2) is handled under Google's security practices. Any further data handling introduced with new features will include appropriate security safeguards, described in an updated policy.
Your Rights
Since PenSal does not collect personal data that identifies you, there is no personal data held by us to access, correct, or delete. If this changes in a future update, this section will be updated with the applicable rights and how to exercise them.
