AP or Advanced Placement is a program that offers college level courses. Which most of you (Elite students) are taking this competitive classes for. You start taking AP courses from Grade 10 (AP chemistry) and by Grade 11 you started with mechanics and AP biology, and then AP calculus AB, in grade 12 you start taking BC topics and E&M (you started at the end of grade 11). But according to college board taking the course is not enough for higher education industries to prove that you are eligible to not take the course again in college. So, college board have designed an exam that is being done every year at May. To ensure that you’re eligible to skip the course at college.
Taking AP exams is quite challenging, in fact many people around the world find those courses requiring lots of effort to tackle. But regardless of how hard those exams are, you can get much more opportunities by just doing it. Even when your score isn’t that good, the fact that you have challenged your self with a college level exam, while you are still at school is quite impressive! And literally graduating high school with an AP exam prove to college how you are prepared for college, and that a head of time you have spent preparing for your future, which give you a higher recommendation compared to your colleagues who haven’t done this exam.
AP Exams are standardized exams designed to measure how well you’ve mastered the content and skills of a specific AP course. Most AP courses have an end-of-year exam. ( from AP CollegeBoard )
