In November 2018, Andrew Schwartz, a 7th grader from Boca Raton, FL, was charged with doing a social action project. During the time he was researching all of the worthy causes to focus his energy on, terrible wildfires were raging in California. He has always had an appreciation for first responders. Even though, he wasn't born yet, stories of 9/11 gave him great respect for Firefighters, Police, and the Military. Andrew wanted each firefighter, officer, and military personal to feel the kindness they have earned. He believes that there were an overwhelming majority of people who appreciate them and would want to express that feeling. Because of them, we live our lives with great freedoms.
To that end, Andrew started APPRECIATEtheSTATION.com. This is a grassroots effort to simply express the feelings that most people feel. A simple thank you to the men and women who are so underappreciated. Thank you for participating and making a first responder's day a little bit brighter.
Kindness is contagious so don't forget to post pictures and thoughts on social media when you send letters! You can find us on Twitter, Snapchat, and Instragram @thestation1222, and use #APPRECIATEtheSTATION so we can see where the campaign has spread and share all of the wonderful stories.
