Power Tracker ("we", "our", or "the app") is an electricity meter reading tracker designed to help you monitor your electricity consumption and costs. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles your information.

Information We Collect

Data You Provide

- Meter readings: Electricity meter reading values you enter manually or capture via camera.

- Electricity price: The price per kWh you configure in settings.

- Budget settings: Optional monthly usage budget thresholds.

- Reminder preferences: Your preferred reminder day and time.

Camera Access

The app requests camera permission solely to photograph your electricity meter for automatic reading recognition (OCR). Image processing is performed entirely on your device using Google ML Kit's on-device text recognition. Photos are processed in memory and are not stored, uploaded, or shared.

Notifications

The app uses local notifications to send optional monthly meter reading reminders. Notification scheduling is handled entirely on your device. No notification data is sent to any server.

How Your Data Is Stored

All data is stored locally on your device using an SQLite database. This includes your meter readings, settings, and preferences. No data is transmitted to any external server, cloud service, or third party.

Data Export and Backup

The app provides optional features to export your records as CSV or Excel files and to create JSON backup files. These files are generated locally on your device and shared only when you explicitly choose to do so through your device's share functionality. We do not have access to exported or backup files.

Third-Party Services

Google ML Kit (On-Device)

The app uses Google ML Kit's text recognition SDK for OCR functionality. All text recognition processing occurs on your device. No images or recognized text are sent to Google's servers. For more information, see Google ML Kit Terms: https://developers.google.com/ml-kit/terms

Data Sharing

We do not collect, share, sell, or transmit any of your personal data to third parties. The app operates entirely offline with no network communication.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your data remains on your device for as long as you choose to keep it. You can delete individual records within the app or remove all data by uninstalling the app. Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all locally stored data.

Children's Privacy

The app does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 18. The app does not require any personal identification information to function.

Security

Your data is stored in your device's private application storage, protected by the operating system's built-in security mechanisms. No data leaves your device unless you explicitly export or share it.
